Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 1982. Maggie Grace is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Her parents had divorced and they moved together with their mother into Los Angeles. Although she was struggling financially in 2001, her debut came as Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) with her. Grace wanted to focus on film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) on Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. The actress reprised her character for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation to the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes as Shannon. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith who is both a star-gazer and socialite. She's a Gyllenhaal, the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is older that Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as a teenager with small parts in a few of the films of her father and starred alongside her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was nominated to win an Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two movies were critically acclaimed. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008, following several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006), brought Gyllenhaal greater fame. Nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). The following year, she starred in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (2012). Other roles are as an agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and also in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the lead role. Gyllenhaal began her professional career as a screenwriter and director in 2021 when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at the Venice International Film Festival, and was also nominated for The Academy Award. Academy Award.
